At 5:30pm E.T. today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) will deliver remarks live from the Reagan Ranch in Santa Barbara, California on the need to fix our broken tax code. You can watch his speech live here.
Last month, House, Senate, and White House leaders announced that we are united on a path forward on tax reform. Now, under Chairman Brady’s leadership, the Ways and Means Committee is working hard to turn those principles into historic tax reform legislation that will create jobs and grow our economy.
Our goals are straightforward: We want a more simple, affordable, and competitive tax code. That means a tax cut for hardworking Americans, less stress come tax season, and a level playing field for our businesses.
The last time we reformed our tax code was in 1986 under President Reagan. A lot has changed since then, but today we have a once-in-a-generation moment to honor President Reagan’s legacy by enacting commonsense, pro-growth reform. This is exactly what Chairman Brady will discuss today, and we hope you’ll tune in for his remarks.
